Eugene Handley was born March 29, 1945, in Lexa Arkansas. He was the third child of five children born to Rebecca and Arsmond Handley, Sr.

The family moved to Chicago where Eugene, lovingly called Gene Baby, attended Parker High School.  As a young man Eugene worked various jobs until he decided to return to Arkansas where he met and married the love of his life Connie, who preceded him in death.

Eugene was blessed to be a loving father.  His son, Keith Williams and his daughter, Erin Handley, were the other loves of his life and he was so very proud of them.

Eugene was a dedicated employee of Arkansas Power and Light Company.  Eugene served twenty-one years as Deputy Coroner.  He also devoted a large amount of time working with Jackson – Highly, Stephens, and Kincaid Funeral Homes.

Eugene was a people person, everywhere he went, he almost always knew someone and held a conversation with them.

Eugene was a faithful member and trustee of New Light Missionary Baptist Church.  He loved to sing in the Men’s Chorus.  Eugene really loved his Church Family.  Both of Eugene’s parents, two of his sisters; Debra Smith, Dorothy Randle, and his brother; Arsmond Handley, Jr. preceded him in death.

Eugene leaves to cherish his memories his daughter; Erin, his son; Keith and grandson, his sister; Eula (George) Curtis, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He will be forever missed.
