In the 1940s, her parents and siblings moved to the Lakeview farming community. Here, she learned the value of family and the importance of education. First Baptist Church of Lakeview, Arkansas taught her continued belief in the Heavenly Father and thankfulness for her blessings.

There she received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She taught school in Elaine, Lakeview, and Helena School Districts for more than 30 years.

In 1952, Ludie married Rogerline Johnson, Sr. and to this union seven children were born. There was a deep passion to instill the value of education in her children and grandchildren. Through the years, she enjoyed time with family and friends at various events.

After retirement, she continued to share her values in education with the Phillips County Teacher Retirement Association and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). As a volunteer for the Helena Regional Medical Center, she had a “Joy” in welcoming guests to the facility for fourteen years.
