Visitation will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel,126 Panama Road, West Helena AR from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, 415 W Garland Street, West Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines:  mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart. Mrs. Ayers' service may be viewed live through ZOOM. Maggie Mae Kirkwood-Ayers was born June 6, 1939 in West Helena, Arkansas to the late Robert Lee Kirkwood and Maggie Cox-Kennedy. She departed this earthly life July 11, 2023 in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family.

Maggie was united in holy matrimony to Levelle Ayers on May 12, 1956. From this union, eleven children were born.

Maggie embodied such a beautiful spirit of love and kindness. Her nurturing arms stretched far and wide throughout the community. She was a beautiful mother figure to many who were in need. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She enjoyed studying her bible and was a faithful member of Miracle Temple of West Helena, Arkansas until her health failed. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, shopping, fishing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Maggie is preceded in death by her parents; Robert Lee Kirkwood and Maggie Cox-Kennedy, three brothers; Robert Lee Kirkwood, Alfred Kirkwood, Joe Louis Kirkwood, two sisters; Flora Harris, Emma Minor, her spouse; Levelle Ayers, two daughters; Margienell Ayers, Clemmie Ayers-Parker, one grandson; George Banks, and one great grandson; K’Den Gailey.

Maggie leaves to cherish her memory five sons; Alfred Ayers, Calvin Ayers, Rodney Ayers all of Los Angelos CA, John Ayers of West Helena AR, Palmer (Lenora) Ayers of Alexander AR, four daughters; Veola Ayers, Hollie Ayers both of West Helena AR, Marcia Ayers, Lahoma Ayers both of Antioch TN, three special bonus daughters; Alesia Taylor, Rosalind Brown, Monica Turner, three sisters; Deloistine Williams of West Helena AR, Dorothy Wilson, Margaret Norvell both of Chicago IL, one brother; Johnny Norvell of North Carolina, three sisters-in-law; Luella Ayers-Bullock of Little Rock AR, Rosie Lee Havard of Bobo MS, Mary Ayers of West Palm Beach FL, two brothers-in-law; Willie Ayers of West Palm Beach FL, Reverend Chester Gentry, twenty- three grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
