Visitation will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, 126 Panama Road, West Helena AR from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will not be a formal funeral service. Mrs. Delois Cheatham Parker was born November 19, 1952 to the late Willie C. and Cleinix Cheatam in West Helena, Arkansas. She transitioned to her heavenly home May 30, 2023 at Helena Regional Medical Center, Helena Arkansas.

Delois accepted Christ as her personal Savior at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, West Helena Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend Harry Price. She remained faithful until her health declined.

Delois received her formal education within the Helena-West Helena School District, West Helena, Arkansas. She pursued a career in the food industry. She used her skills and talents at her own restaurant, “Down Home Cooking.”  She later worked in various food chains to include Red Lobster and Harvest Foods Deli.

Delois enjoyed dancing and listening to the blues. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Delois is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Gene Autry Young, Benart Cheatam, one sister; Willie Mae Waldron, one grandson; Gary Allen Cheatham, Jr., one nephew; Reginald Harrell, and two nieces; Chavon Taylor and Kesha Young.

Delois leaves to cherish her memories to six children; Gary (Diane) Cheatham, Sr., Clarence Parker, Jr., Ronda Parker, Felicia (Jason) Parker Howard, Kevin Parker, Veronica Parker, siblings; Shirley Pope, Oliver (Charlene) Cheatam, Robert Lee Cheatam, Robert “Beaver” (Alice) Cheatam, sister-in-law; Lawania Cheatam, bonus sisters; Diane Taylor, Levan Mcrary, 34 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and a host nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
