Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, 2022 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at P.L.M. & D. District Center, Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Beulah Church Cemetery, Barton Arkansas. Reverend Leslie Goldsberry was born December 22, 1948 to Willie Mae and Robert Goldsberry, Sr. in Poplar Grove, Arkansas. He confessed his hope in Christ at an early age at Star Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend C.B. Bingham. He received his formal education from Lake View Schools. He went on to graduate from Barber College in Little Rock, Arkansas. He returned to West Helena, Arkansas and worked numerous jobs including Chicago Mill, Faust Lumber Company, Hill Construction, and Mid-Delta Transit until his health began to fail. Reverend Goldsberry was called to the ministry in 1983.  He married the lovely Bettie Marie Jones on October 1, 1983.

Reverend Goldsberry spent a vast majority of his life fulfilling God’s calling on his life as a pastor, teacher, and Vice Moderator. He loved his church family. Pastor Goldsberry served as the proud pastor of Baptist Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Clarendon, Arkansas for 29 years. He also served as Pastor of Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Lake View, Arkansas for eight years. Pastor Leslie Goldsberry lived a life of faith and service to his community. He served as Vice Moderator for Monroe County for 30 years. Prior to his death, he was appointed Vice Moderator at Large of the P.L.M. & D. Association. Reverend Goldsberry did not hesitate to serve the Lord in any capacity when asked or needed in the church and community.

Reverend Goldsberry had an avid love for his dogs, talking on his CB radio, and fishing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Reverend Goldsberry is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter; La’Tommia Rivers, and a stepdaughter; Zelma Harris.

Reverend Goldsberry leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 38 years; Bettie Goldsberry, two daughters; Kimberly (LaRon) Edwards of Lowell AR, Leslie Asbell of Monticello GA, one stepdaughter; Thelma (Robert) Moss of Manassas VA; one stepson; Brian (Kristen) Jones of Leesburg VA, two brothers; Robert (Vera) Goldsberry of West Helena AR , Sam (Florence) Goldsberry of St. Louis MO, a special cousin; Jeanette Willie, eleven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
