Walter Ellis Walker was born August 11, 1953 to Sally and Peter Walker in Helena, Arkansas. The youngest of 12 children, he was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Theodore Williams, Odie Toliver, Veola Cunningham, William Walker, George Walker, Josephine Walker, Evelyn Walker, Rachel Walker, Joe Walker, Rosie Walker and Peter Walker. Uncle Walter was a meek man. His caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed painting, carpentry, cutting trees, running errands for his neighbors, walking, and reading his Bible. He always said he had to make sure he stays close to the Lord. He attended Northend Elementary School up until the age of 12 when he went to work in the cotton fields. He has lived in Michigan, Jonesboro, and Little Rock, Arkansas but he always found his way home to Midland Heights. He went home to his eternal rest February 7, 2022. Even though he had no children of his own, Uncle Walter cared for all his nieces and nephews of whom he had a special connection with; Gwendolyn Larkin, Jacqueline Smith, Taria Clark, Ronald Reed, David Clark, Christopher Walker, Al Cunningham Jr., and Terry Walker. Great Nieces Vernaye (Andre) Taggart, Chrissy (Gabriel) Gibson, April (Michael) Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and his Midland Heights Community.
