Obituary
Tom Matthews, III was born February 19, 1973 to Tom and Birtha Matthews in West Helena, Arkansas. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age at Long Lake Missionary Baptist Church, Helena Arkansas under the leadership of the late Reverend Charles Webster, Sr.
Tom, affectionately known as “Smoky,” was a part of the Central High School, Helena – West Helena Arkansas graduating class of 1993. He loved spending time with his family and friends. One might say he was always the life of the party. Tom was a free spirit that enjoyed life.
Tom leaves to cherish his memories a daughter; La Quansha Matthews, a grandson; Jarvell Matthews both of Little Rock AR, mother; Birtha Perry Matthews, father; Tom Matthews, Jr., two sisters; Sheryl (Richard) Matthews Croft, Barbara (Otis) Matthews Messenger, a brother; Eric Jackson all of Helena – West Helena AR and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Memories & condolences
All my love and deepest condolences to him and his family. Smokey were 1 of a kind and we talked alot , the last conversation we had was about neither one giving up our battle. He fought a long one and I\'m still fighting mines , I will continue to keep him in my heart. God heard your cry my friend and you gonna be good.
