A LIFE REMEMBERED

Obituary

Potondra Amaris Carruth was born February 25, 1979 in Memphis, Tennessee to Gwendolyn Hall. She was the second child of three children. Potondra accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church until she relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas. Affectionately known as “Panky” to family and friends, she was educated in the Marvell School District – Class of 1998. She was a hard-working and dedicated employee for several companies – including Wal-Mart, Dillard’s and Family Dollar. Panky was a strong, proud, dedicated mother and grandmother. She shared great joy in spending time with her children and family. Panky was also a fun and loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin to her family. Even when she didn’t feel well, she always remained positive, never complained and kept a smile on her face through it all. Panky was our “shining light” and will truly be missed. On January 26, 2022 at the age of 42, Panky peacefully gained her wings. She is preceded in death by grandparents; Henry and Cecil Earnestine Carruth, aunts; Carolina Carruth, Annetta T. Carruth, uncles; Walter Runnion, Sr., Cecil Ray Carruth, Henry Carruth, Jr., and a granddaughter; Italy A. Barton. Panky leaves to cherish her memories her mother; Gwendolyn (Karl) Hall of Memphis TN, five children; Keenan Carruth, Bria Carruth, Travion Hamilton, Kyra Carruth, Jameshia Gines all of Little Rock AR, one sister; Yalanda Carruth of Dallas TX, one brother; Morris Carruth of Memphis, TN; one niece; India Jordan of Dallas TX, grandchildren; Damir Barton, Aubree Gines, awaiting the arrival of baby Kylan Carruth. Panky was raised by her grandmother, Cecil Earnestine, who proceeded her in death. Panky’s very special uncle and aunt, David and Gale Herred, continued to raise Panky as their own, creating a blended family with her four cousins whom she considered as her sisters: Latrina (Christopher) Davis of Memphis TN, Gabrielle (Jarquez) Barefield of Little Rock AR, Taneshia Carruth of Marvell AR, a brother; Landers (Laroya) Carruth of Memphis TN, five uncles; Ricky (Jada) Carruth of Byhalia MS, James Carruth of Marvell AR, Mykle Carruth of Blytheville AR, Johnnie Carruth of Jonesboro AR, Charles Collier of Memphis TN, and two special friends; Shannon Rivers, Tyneshia Rivers of both Little Rock AR.
