A LIFE REMEMBERED

Obituary

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Eddie Lee Williams, Sr., was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from his home in Lexa, Arkansas. II Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” Eddie Lee Williams was born August 6, 1931, in Coahoma County, Mississippi to Mosella Watson-Williams and Chester G. Williams. Eddie confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in November 1943 at Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend A. L. Patterson. He served as Choir Director, Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, and wherever needed for more than 82 years. He remained steadfast in his faith and membership until his health failed. During his early childhood, he attended public school in Coahoma County, Mississippi. He later relocated with his family to Arkansas where he attended Dyse Rosenwald Public Schools. He met and married Lillie Bell Scaife on July 10, 1950. During this thirty-five years of marriage, eight beautiful daughters and seven handsome sons were born. His wife, Lillie Bell Scaife Williams, preceded him in death on Wednesday, December 18, 1985. As life continued, Eddie Lee met and married Odessa Nealy on September 10, 1988.  There were no children born to this union; he became the father of four bonus children. Collectively 19 children. Odessa preceded him in death on Friday, December 30, 2016. Like Paul , he practiced the scripture as stated in Philippians 3:13 &14, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before; I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”  He was God-fearing with everlasting faith in God. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother, a supportive friend, and a respected community leader. Eddie Lee was the epitome of hard work and dedication. He was a skilled carpenter with more than 65 years of experience building and renovating churches, homes, and commercial buildings. He took immense pleasure in his craft and was a mentor to many young apprentices. Eddie Lee lived to be “94” years young at heart. His gentle spirit and steady presence will be deeply missed. He was proceeded in death by his parents, two wives, six brothers, one son, two daughters, three grandsons, three sons-in-law, and one daughter-in-law. He leaves to cherish his memories children; Aloise Hart,  Marcus Nealy, Sr., Roger Nealy, Ira Nealy all of West Helena AR, Jimmy (Margaret) of Horn Lake MS, E. Laverne Williams of Orlando FL, Barbara Betts of Broken Arrow OK, Willie Williams, Patrician (Stephen) Wilkinson, Kathyeron Hickson all of Lawton OK, Linda (Vincent) Williams-Bauldrick of Woodbridge VA, Alex (Veda) Williams of New Orleans LA, Jacqueline Williams of Stillwater OK,  Eddie Lee Williams, Jr. of the home, Lexa AR, James Earl (Kim) Williams, and Timmie (Debra) Williams of Oklahoma City OK.
