A LIFE REMEMBERED

Obituary

Dorothy Johnson was born on November 27, 1956 in Ratio, Arkansas to the late Barney Hardison, Jr. and Mary Hardison.  Dorothy was raised by the late Barney Hardison, Sr. and Robbessie Hardison (grandparents) who welcomed her into their hearts and home as their daughter.  Dorothy had a heart of gold and knew not of any boundaries when it came to cooking.  And now as we bid her farewell, let us reflect on her life, love and legacy that exemplified while on here on earth.  She is precedent in death by her siblings Mittie Craig, Sylvester Hardison, Barney Hardison, III, McKinley Williams, and Christine Joshaway.  As well as her maternal and paternal grandparents. She accepted Christ at an early age at True Vine Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend G.G. Brown.  Dorothy will fondly be remembered for her cinnamon rolls, gentle demeanor, and as a loving mother.  On July 3, 2000, she was joined in marriage to William Johnson.  She retired from Helena-West Helena School District after 41 years. On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, our beloved Dorothy Johnson transitioned into eternal glory to her mansion that Jesus promised and prepared for her because she was prepared for Him! Those who remain are comforted and assured because of God’s promises and the living hope within that they will see her again someday are her husband; William Beal Johnson of West Helena AR, two sons; Derrick (Vivian) Davis of Clinton MS, Gene Williams, Jr. of Eldorado AR, one daughter; Yvonne (Terry) Gray of Conway AR, one step-son; Webster Johnson of Sherwood AR, one step-daughter; Leaondora Johnson of Des Moines IA, two Goddaughters; Karmen Flowers of Jonesboro AR,  Knea Lloyd of West Helena AR, three grandsons; Bobby Jones, Jr., Derrick Davis, III, Kamone Acklin, three granddaughters; Asha Cobb, Shan Davis, Keyshon Miller, plus six grandchildren out of state, five great grandchildren, brothers; Dwight (Shelia) Hardison, Michael (Unda) Hardison, Nabry Williams, Ricardo Hardison all of Helena-West Helena AR, Thomas (Melanie) Hardison, Walter Hardison both of Murfreesboro TN; Thad (Barbara) Williams, Booker Harris, Willie Lee Williams all of Columbus OH, Leroy Williams, Dan Williams both of Chicago IL, one uncle; Johnnie (Darlene) Hardison of Waukegan IL, five aunts; Lilly Stringfellow, Beatrice Green, Bernice Bobo all of Helena-West Helena AR, Jean Hardison of Las Vegas, Gloria Thompson of Waukegan IL, a loving friend; Iola Flowers of Helena-West Helena AR, and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
