Darryl Darnzell Sims

Darryl Darnzell Sims was born to the late Robert T. Sims and Dorothy Carruth Sims October 11, 1966 in Helena Arkansas. He transitioned to his eternal life November 18, 2022 at his home. Darryl accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the young age of twelve under the pastoral leadership of Reverend J.W. Webb at Beautiful Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Helena Arkansas. He served as a Junior Usher and was a member to the Beautiful Zion Youth Choir. Darryl received his formal education within the Helena – West Helena School District. He was a proud graduate of Central High School, Helena Arkansas Class of 1985. He continued his education at University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, Pine Bluff Arkansas. Later, he relocated to Memphis, Tennessee where he entered the workforce. He worked at Eco Lab for several years before he eventually returned home to West Helena, Arkansas. During this time, he was self-employed until his demise. Darryl is preceded in death by his father; Robert T. Sims, paternal grandparents; Ernest and Joanna Sims, maternal grandparents; Mattie Weaver, Tom Carruth, and a sister; Jacqueline Wilson. Darryl leaves to cherish his loving mother; Dorothy Sims, his children; Derrius Sims of Texas, Daneshia (Calvin) Woods of West Helena AR, Darryl Sims, Jr. of Memphis TN, two brothers; Edwin Sims of West Helena AR, Velencio Sims of California, six sisters; Charlotte Milligan, Wanda Sims both of West Helena AR, Donna Sims of St. Louis MO, Alondra Bible of California, Patricia Sims of Chicago IL, Anita (Michael) Hoskins of Southaven MS, three grandchildren; Caneshia Sheard of West Helena AR, Cameron Sims of Jacksonville AR, Kasen Sims of West Helena AR and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
