A LIFE REMEMBERED

Obituary

Andre Kentarious Clark was born at Helena Hospital on June 28, 1984 to Polly Holmes.  Andre professed his hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Cecil Coleman. Andre attended the Helena-West Helena School District where he participated in many activities but had a special love and passion for JROTC.  He graduated with honors in 2002.  He went on to further his education attending Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  During his tenure at A-State he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and crossed into Kappa Land on March 21, 2005.  He later graduated and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology.  After graduation Andre relocated to Jonesboro, Georgia and later relocated to Stone Mountain, Georgia. On August 25, 2019, Andre accepted his calling to the ministry at the Shaw Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Smyrna, Georgia under the leadership of the illustrious Pastor Eldren D. Morrison.  Andre LOVED his pastor and his church family dearly.  He was a dedicated, faithful servant at Shaw Temple.  There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his church and church family.  He remained a faithful servant until his health began to fail causing him to return to Helena-West Helena. He is preceded in death by his grandmother; Evia Arter-Holmes, and his uncle; James “Sonny” Holmes. Andre leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving mother; Polly (Orville) Jiles, his daughter; Auniyah Clark, four sisters; Kimberly (Reggie) Rose of Helena-West Helena AR, Shanikh (Daris) Brown of Batesville AR, Angel Fonzie, Candy Bridget both of Helena-West Helena AR, two brothers; Bennie Fonzie, Jr. of Helena-West Helena AR, Damian Fonzie of Atlanta GA, three step siblings; Gregg Jiles, Nedra Jiles, Orville Jiles, Jr., three aunts; Billie Jean Holmes-McCray, San Jose (Lloyd) Fraction, Patricia Arter-Moore, Jeanette Holmes, special cousins; Markius Carpenter, Roderick Fraction, Rinalldo Holmes, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sending condolences to Bro. Andre Clark\'s family. He was such a \"gentle giant,\" faithful dedication, and servant-leader led by his heart. I\'ll always remember how courteous, thoughtful, and kind he was to me, picking me up in the Shaw Temple AME Zion parking lot to give me a ride on the golf cart to the front entrance of our church. I\'ll always remember his smile and EXCEPTIONAL hospitality greeted in the parking lot! Rest In Peace! ??????
