Willie Mae Luckett, of West Helena, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026. She was 72 years old.

Born in Helena, Arkansas, in 1953 to Malissa and Tommie Luckett, she grew up in a large family and later became a mother of three. Though life presented its challenges, she always made
a way for her family and friends. She dedicated her life to her family and her community. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.

Through every season of her life, her greatest investment was her family.

She was outspoken, protective, hardworking, sentimental, and stubborn in the way only a mother can be. She valued education, taught her children to be independent, and believed that your word
mattered. Yet she never stopped being their mother—checking in, calling repeatedly until someone answered, and wanting to know what was happening in their lives. She loved helping
others, cooking for people, cleaning homes, and being a watchful, caring neighbor. In later years, her affection became even more evident with her grandchildren and the younger generations. Her
granddaughter, Cheyenne Amara Massey, held a particularly special place in her heart and was proudly known as her “Pride and Joy.”

She leaves to cherish her memory her three children: LaKyisha Pope, née Luckett; Kevin C. Edmond and his wife, Sadeere Edmond; and LaToya D. Edmond, her fiancé, Anthony Penny,
along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and loved ones. Among those who will forever carry her memory are Glenn Baker, Melmer Baker, Kenya Edmond,
Devontae Herred, Keyuntae Herred, Jason Wilson, Kyrstine Baker, Thaleria Brown, Emilia Baker, Abishi Herred, Keyvonie Wilson, and great-granddaughter Ke’Ari Ashlynn Williams.

She will rest in heaven with parents: Tommie Luckett, Sr., Malissa Luckett, and siblings: Charlene Luckett, Ray Luckett, Shirley Luckett, Chester Luckett, Johnnie Luckett, Tommy
Luckett, Eddie Luckett, Eddie Mae Luckett and Hester Mae Luckett.

She leaves behind more than memories. She leaves lessons, laughter, strength, and a family who will continue to carry pieces of her wherever life takes them. Though she is deeply missed, her
love and legacy will remain a part of her family for generations to come.
