Sammy Ray Wade, Sr., affectionately known as “Deedee,” was born February 4, 1947 to the late Joseph and Zelma Wade in Alcorn, Mississippi. He departed this earthly life March 19, 2020 at Baptist Health Medical Center, North Little Rock Arkansas.
Sammy confessed a hope in Christ at the Mount Lula Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Lewis T. Mapp. He later joined the Pilgrim Guide Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend James Baker. There he served as a Deacon until his health declined.
Sammy was employed as farm laborer. Over the years he has dedicated his heart, body, and soul to the farming industry.
Sammy united in Holy Matrimony to Sue Ellen Jones. This union of forty-six years blended a family of nine children of which three were born.
Sammy is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Charles Wade, McArthur Wade and one sister; Betty Ann Wade.
Sammy leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife; Sue Ellen Wade of Lakeview AR, three daughters; Kitonia Wade of Lakeview AR, Frenika Wade of Little Rock AR, LeShonda (Anthony) Rogers of Jonesboro AR, one son; Sammy (Amanda) Wade, Jr. of Wausau WI; five stepsons; Arthur (Vivian) Coleman, Michael (Holly) Coleman, Thidora Coleman, Kelvin Coleman, David Coleman all of Wausau WI, four brothers; Musa Akil Saeed (Betty) Wade of West Helena AR, Robert (Micky) Wade, Wilmer (Jean) Wade both of San Antonio TX, Eugene (Patricia) Wade of Arlington TX, eight sisters; Lenora Rogers of Mobil AL, Magaline Tharp of Ripley TN, Annie (George) Wilson of Jamestown NY, Christine Blakely, Glenda Wade, Joyce Truitt, Mary (Charles) Garner, Margaret Miller all of Lakeview AR, twenty-eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
