Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2019 at Jackson – Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena, Arkansas from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Second Baptist Church, Corner of Park and Hernando, West Helena Arkansas at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas.

Life’s Journey
Joyce Marie Ross Owens was born March 6, 1954 to the union of the late Levi and Benolia Ross in Holly Grove, Arkansas. She was eighth of ten children. She departed this earthy life December 19, 2019.

Joyce confessed a hope in Christ at an early age in Holly Grove, Arkansas. In later years, she moved to West Helena, Arkansas. She united with Miracle Temple Church under the leadership of Elder James Hicks, Sr. She also attended Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Jarvis Smith.

Joyce attended school in Holly Grove, Arkansas. She never met a stranger. She was a kindhearted person with a heart of gold.

During her lifetime, she was employed at Crestpark Nursing Home, Helena Arkansas. She later was employed at Pride of the Pond in Mississippi.

Joyce was a person of strong faith and determination. She was a loyal devoted mother and friend.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two children.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memories her husband; Frederick Owens, Sr., four sons; Cortney Johnson, Derrick Owens, Frederick Owens, Jr., her grandson to whom she recently adopted; Fredrick Owens, III, one daughter; Lashandra Holland Williams, two brothers: Larry Ross, Levi Ross, Jr., five sisters; Maxine Ross, Pearlean Hamilton, Christine Taylor, Earlean Robinson, Rosemary Ross Wyne, two long time and devoted God sisters; Diane Willis, Regener Boards, three aunts; Irene Flucker, Geraldine Flucker, Alma Jean Flucker, twenty grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
