Visitation will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 at Jackson – Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Spring Lake Missionary Baptist Church, Lexa Arkansas at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at St. John Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas.
Earnest King “Mane” McGinister, Sr. was born April 25, 1928 in Helena, Arkansas to the late Jeff and Fannie Bell McGinister. He was the eleventh child, the last to be born.
Brother Earnest accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. Later in life, he joined the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Lexa Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend Roy Williams.
Brother Earnest united in Holy Matrimony to Earline Helen Jones April 9, 1949. To this union nine children were born.
Brother Earnest is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, two children; LaFayetta Patterson, Jefferson McGinister, two grandchildren; Kenneth Brown and Nicholas Medina.
Brother Earnest leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 70 years; Earline McGinister of West Helena AR, seven children; Earnest (Judy) McGinister, Jr. of West Memphis AR, Aonie McGinister of Memphis TN, Carnell (Linda) McGinister of West Helena AR, Wonda (Walter) Miller of West Helena AR, Shelia Anderson of Memphis TN, Tony McGinister of West Helena AR, Darryl McGinister of Bryan TX, 27 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
