Obituaries

Charles Darren Giles was born March 15, 1960 to the late Calvin and Ellawynn Giles in Helena, Arkansas. He transitioned from this earthly life receiving his heavenly reward August 23, 2026 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Charles received his formal education within the Helena – West Helena School District.  He graduated from Central High School and soon after joined the United States Navy as an Intelligence Specialist. He retired serving his country and after retirement he continued working in communications.

Charles was united in holy matrimony to Wanda Nathan Giles. To this union, they had one daughter, Antoinette Giles.

An expression of love:

My father was loving, caring, respectful, funny comedian, gentlemen, laid back, chill kind of a father. He was always about keeping the peace and wanting to learn something new every day. A provider. A true class act. He would always ask me trivia questions; which I loved to do with him. He gave me advice on anything in life. He was very intelligent; you would ask him a question about anything, and he would just know the answer right away. He had a passion for reading books, technology and traveling the world. He also loved the creative arts and music; especially Jazz music. He loved to sing and dance. Mostly, he had a love for all sports; especially basketball and football. My father loved the beach and wanted to visit San Diego, California one last time before his passing. Which is where he started his military journey.

To my father Charles, I love you daddy. You will always be with me, and I will always be with you. I will continue to make you proud. Peace.

Charles leaves to cherish his beloved daughter; Antoinette Giles of Norfolk VA, his siblings, his grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
