Mrs. James Ora Reed was born August 30, 1943 to late Eldridge and Bessie Gill, Sr. in Marvell. Arkansas. She transitioned from this earthly life to her heavenly reward, Tuesday, July 28, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

James Ora accepted Christ at an early age at the Midway Baptist Church in Marvell, Arkansas.

James Ora married Ulicious A. Reed at the age of nineteen, where she was faithful until death, giving them 64 years together.

James Ora graduated from M. and M. Tate High School in 1962 and continued her education at the Phillips County Community College. She later worked for the Marvell School District as an Instructional Assistant as well as the Phillips County Community College giving the field of Education 40 years of her life.

James Ora extended her love to whomever she could and was a faithful member of the Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church where she served in many capacities such as: teacher of the youth, an usher, on the program committee, and the culinary team until she no longer could.

Preceding her in death were her parents; Eldridge and Bessie Gill, Sr., sisters; Verna Wright, Lucille Seals, Hazel Mackey, Robbie Ewing, Glennie Mae Gill, brothers; Eldridge Gill, Jr., Maurice Gill, Charles Gill, Dizzie Gill, and son; Tony A. Reed.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband; Ulicious A. Reed, one daughter; Tina Reed Brown, two grandchildren; Dr. Adrian (Laurin) Reed, Kenneth D. Brown, II, two sisters; Elsie Jean Vaughn, Jearlean Cockrell, one brother; Melvin (Adrienne) Gill, one sister-in-law; Vivian Stovall, one son-in-law; Kenneth D. Brown, Sr., and a host of nephews, nieces, friends, and a lot of people that called her “MOM.”

Throughout her life, she always strived to make a difference.
