Visitation will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 21825 Highway 44, Elaine Arkansas from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will promptly begin at 2:00 p.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 21825 Highway 44, Elaine Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Morning Star Cemetery, Elaine Arkansas.
Leonard Charles Scaife, Sr., lovingly known as “Charles,” was born on February 19, 1952, in Elaine, Arkansas to the late Fred and Rosa Scaife. On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, Charles peacefully departed this life surrounded by his wife and children after courageously fighting a long battle with cancer.
At an early age, Charles dedicated his life to Christ at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Elaine, Arkansas. Later, he moved to Mississippi, where he met his wife, Eddie Bee Bogard. The two were united in marriage in 1972 and later made their home in Wabash, Arkansas, where they built a loving family.
Charles was a hardworking and passionate farmer for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He will be remembered for his strength and the love he shared with those around him.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Rosa Scaife, four brothers; Frank Mills, Jr., Johnnie (Beatrice) Scaife, James (Oberrie) Scaife, Sr., Arthur (Ora) Scaife, Sr., two sisters; Nadine Scaife and Bessie Lee Galmore.
Charles leaves behind his wife; Eddie Bee Scaife of Jonesboro AR, one daughter; LaSandra Bogard of Jonesboro AR, three sons; Leonard (Lucia) Charles Scaife, Jr. of Yuma AZ, Kelvin (Kiundra) Scaife of North Little Rock AR, Johnathan Chairse of Judsonia AR, four sisters; Essie Mae Scaife of St. Louis MO, Dorothy Scaife Parks of Little Rock AR, Annie Scaife of Carrollton TX, Ruthie Scaife of Memphis TN, and one brother; Nathaniel (Martha) Scaife of Lamar MS. He also leaves to cherish his memory 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
