Tommy George Gause, Jr. was born in Helena, Arkansas to the late Tommy and Roberta Gause, Sr. He was the second of eleven children. He transitioned from this earthly life to receive his heavenly reward April 23, 2026 in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family.

Tommy accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age at Springlake Missionary Baptist Church, Lexa Arkansas and continued his Christian journey throughout life.

Tommy started his formal education at Southland School continuing it within the Helena – West Helena School District. He later went on to receive his certification in Automobile Mechanics from American School Online.

Affectionately known as “Toucan” to some and “Tom Tom” to others, he was no stranger to hard work. He provided for his family as a farmer, as a construction worker, and a vending salesman for AAV Vending Company while living in Detroit, Michigan. He later returned to the Southland Community where again he farmed and eventually ventured into landscaping. For many years he was the Solomon Family’s landscaper.

Tommy was united in Holy Matrimony to his childhood sweetheart Juanita House July 28, 1985. To this union five children were born; Tara, Tommie,III, LaTasha, Melissa, and Bryan.

Tommy enjoyed many outdoor sports such as: fishing, hunting, horseshoes, and volleyball. He also had his favorite indoor activities such as: crossword puzzles, chess, and especially dancing. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and just living life to the fullest.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; Tommy and Roberta Gause, Sr., grandparents; Henry and Rachel Pruitt, Sr., uncles; Horace Pruitt, Sr., Henry Pruitt, Sammie Gause, Sr., aunts; Martha Helen Bell, Mae Lou Hardnett, Margarite Bell, siblings; Eugene “PeeWee” Gause, Sr., Edward “Eddie Bo” Martin, Arthur “Art” Adams, Sr., Andrew Gause, Sr., Claveland “Soy Bean” Martin, and John “Southland Mayor” Gause, Sr.

Tommy leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 41 years; Juanita Gause, five children; Tara Gause of West Helena AR, Tommie Gause, III of Monterey CA, LaTasha (Kormyn) Sims of Marvell AR, Melissa Gause of Little Rock AR, Bryan Gause Lexa AR, siblings; L.S. (Pauline) Mayweather of North Carolina, Charles (Tracy) Martin of Marvell AR, Willie (Tabora) Bell of Lancaster TX, Rosie Winston of Jonesboro AR, Carrie Martin of Lexa AR, Celestine (Edmond, Sr.) Sims of Marvell AR, brothers-in-law; Calvin (Nellie) House, Sr., Jerry (Lavern) House, Francis House, Jr. all of Lexa AR, Tom House, Sr. of West Helena AR, sisters-in-law; Martha (Bennie) Hardnett, Tina (Calvin) Woodridge, Margaret (Elder McClinton) Trotter, Sr., Carla Martin, Kimberly Gause all of Lexa AR, Ruth Gause of West Helena AR, Gloria Gause of Little Rock AR, four grandchildren; Terrance Gause, Tori Gause, Averi Gause, Nandi Sims, and a host of many nephew, nieces, cousins, and friends.
