Later in life, she rededicated her life to Jesus and became a member of Miracle Temple Church under the leadership of Elder James Hicks and lastly, a member of Greater Miracle Temple under the late Bro. Betty was a faithful member of Helena-West Helena Senior Citizens until her health begin to fail. She was overjoyed by being a part of the senior citizens. Bowling on the Wii Game brought so much excitement to her.
Love called her home on her grandson’s, Chris’ birthday, Thursday evening, March 19, 2026. She will be missed profoundly by her loved ones. Everyone has a story to tell of what momma, grandma or Aunt Betty had to say.
She leaves to cherish her memories six sons; Melvin (Linda) Sims, Sherman (Angela) Sims, Leon (Maria) Sims all of Little Rock AR, Lardell (Lisa) Sims of Farmington Hills MI, Michael Sims of West Memphis AR, Markel Sims of Marion AR, one daughter; Patricia (Donald) Williams of Drummonds TN, twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, two sisters; Dorothy Starks of West Helena AR, Ethel Moore of the Southland Community AR, two brothers; L.C. The Lord blessed her with wonderful caregivers that were like daughters to her: Elnora, Vikia, Rose, Pearlene, Wanda, and the late Elaine Golden. Our family can’t say thank you enough for the care you provided to our mother. It would be amiss if we left out her niece Ms. Jeanette Starks, Ms. Iola Flowers, Ms. Carmen Flowers, Ms. Mary Mitchell and Ms. Carolyn Hoskins that was faithful and committed to coming by or calling to check on her. There were three other children that brought joy to her life: Katie, Erin and Patrick Bell. She loved them as her own grandchildren.
