Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas.
Ellis Jones, Sr. was born on March 7, 1937 in Phillip County, Arkansas to the late Edward Jones and Rosie Lee Jones. He departed this earthly life receiving his heavenly reward on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 in Conway, Arkansas.
Ellis was a faithful member of Greater Miracle Temple, West Helena Arkansas for many years. There, he remained steadfast with his church family and faith until his health began to decline.
Ellis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years; Birdia Mae George-Jones, his siblings; John Pitts, Florence Willis, Earline Fonzie, Cleveland Jones, Leon Jones, Henry Lee Jones, his daughters; Mae Jones, Maxine Jones-Donaby, and his son; Ellis Jones, Jr.
Ellis Jones, Sr. married Vera Jones after the death of his wife in 1996. He is survived by his children; Earlene Jones-Hopkins of West Helena AR; Rosetta Jones of Memphis TN, Jimmy (Jearlene) Jones of Memphis TN, Ben (Sharon) Jones of Hot Springs AR, Barbara Wilson of Greenville MS, Letha (Herschel) Richardson, Jr. of Conway AR, Charles (Judy) Jones of Helena AR, daughter-in-law; Lula Jones of Helena AR and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
