Visitation will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, 126 Panama Road, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips, Lee, Monroe, and Desha District Center, Helena Crossing, Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas.
Anthony Lee Davis was born on July 17, 1952 to the late Louis Tilmon Davis and Estella Davis in Sherard, Mississippi. On October 10, 2025, he transitioned from this life at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family.
Anthony confessed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age.
In 1969, Anthony moved from Helena, Arkansas to East St. Louis, Illinois. In 1970, he returned to Helena and later began working for the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Memphis, Tennessee alongside his brother; LeeAndrew.
He eventually returned to East St. Louis, Illinois but later relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he homesteaded from 1993 to 2021. While living in Chicago, he worked as a handyman with his brother; Timothy and cousin; Joe.
In 2021, Anthony’s health began to fail. During this journey, he made the decision to move to Arkansas to be with his daughter, Patricia. He arrived Jul 17, the day of his birthday.
Anthony was formally educated at Rock Junior High School and East St. Louis Senior High School.
Anthony was a kind, quiet, and generous man who loved his family deeply. He enjoyed horse and dog racing, baseball games, and wrestling. He also spent countless hours sitting outside laughing and talking to the young people in the neighborhood. Even though he wasn’t around them that long, he became their “Uncle Anthony.” His sweet spirit will truly be missed.
As the eighth of fifteen children, he was known as a “true fighter” who overcame many battles. He knew it was God who brought him through every trial.
Anthony is preceded in death by his parents; Louis Tilmon Davis and Estella Davis, four brothers; Carl Brider, Arthur Lee Reed, Leroy McCray, Cleotha Hall, one brother-in-law; Leo Smith, and one great granddaughter; Love Adore Davis.
Anthony leaves to cherish his memories his daughter; Patricia Davis of West Helena AR, six sisters; Mable (James) Long of Kalamazoo MI, Estella Smith, Dorothy Newson, Jeanette (Darrell) Davis, Loistene Tilmon, Earnestine (Ira) Glanton all of East St. Louis IL, four brothers; Timothy (Victoria) Davis of Chicago IL, LeeAndrew (Ruthie) Davis of West Helena AR, Willie (Delnas) Tilmon of Fairview Heights IL, Freddie (Tonia) Tilmon of Kansas City MO, three grandchildren; Coderis Davis, Shaquille Davis, Demario Davis, five great grandchildren; Akadia Davis, Drayven Davis, Kinsley Davis, London Davis, Aaliyah Ware, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
