Visitation will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 17380 Hwy 49, Marvell Arkansas from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will promptly begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Mount Moriah Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 17380 Hwy 49, Marvell Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Mt. Union COGIC Cemetery, Blackton, Arkansas.
Mack McKissic, Jr. was born November 10, 1940, in Phillips County, Arkansas to the late Rillie and Mack McKissic, Sr., the second of three children. At the age of 13, he moved to Detroit, Michigan. He attended and graduated from Southeastern High School in the Class of 1958.
He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1960, gaining the rank of Airman with an Honorable Discharge in 1962. After attending Henry Ford College and receiving a Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship in Stationary Steam Engineering, he worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 years. Also, at Ford, he was a UAW Health and Safety Member. Mack was a life-time member of the NAACP and even marched for Civil Rights with Martin Luther King, Jr.
After retiring in 1995, Mack returned to the Marvell Community to enjoy life to the fullest. He confessed a hope in Christ and joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for a number of years. He was a chess player and a true outdoors-man loving to fish, hunt, ride motorcycles, and 4-wheelers. He also was an avid traveler in his RV visiting numerous friends and family.
Mack departed this life on September 16, 2025. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 24 years, Marty Robinson-McKissic of Holly Grove AR, in an earlier marriage, one son; Terrance (Adrian) McKissic of Memphis TN, one daughter; Pam McKissic of Detroit MI, and one grandson; Wesley Jones of Detroit MI; one bonus son; Michael (Mary) Robinson of Duluth GA, five bonus daughters; Renee (MC) Bearfield of Bryant AR, Gerrilyn (Bernard, Sr.) Pighee of Benton AR, Phyllis (Larry) Thomas of Little Rock AR, Sharon (Derrick) Garrett of Dallas TX, Tina Robinson of Bryant AR; his sister; Fannie Fields of Holly Grove AR, a brother; John ‘Bo’ Taylor, Sr. of Holly Grove, sister-in-law; Joyce Walker of Little Rock AR, brother-in-law; Micheal (Ruthie) Robinson of Altheimer AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; special friends Tony (Jean) Anthony of New York, God-daughter; Aleta (Ryan) Uribe of New York, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
