Visitation will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home, West Helena AR from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Twin City Church of Christ, 1615 US 49, West Helena AR at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Springlake Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. Mr. Collins' service may be viewed live through ZOOM. Roosevelt “Peanut” Collins, Sr. was born June 8, 1954 to Rebecca Winston and Jack Collins in Phillips County, Arkansas. He transitioned from this earthly life to receive his heavenly reward August 22, 2025 at Helena Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Roosevelt accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Lexa Arkansas where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Male Chorus.

Roosevelt received his formal education in the Helena – West Helena School District. He graduated from Central High School Class of 1972.

Roosevelt united in Holy Matrimony to Zearner Olloway Collins February 11, 1974. To this union of fifty-five years, had blessed them with three children; Roosevelt, Jr., Tyrone, and Tameshia.

Roosevelt was employed by the City of Helena – West Helena as the City Sanitation and Street Director at the time of his transition. He previously worked for the City Water Company, Kalb Electric Company, and Smith Shoe Repair Shop. His greatest love was farming and raising livestock.

Roosevelt was preceded in death by his parents; Rebecca Winston and Jack Collins, grandparents; Reedie and Georgia Winston, a sister; Velma Terry, two brothers; Kevin Winston, Charles Anderson, father-in-law; Malvin Olloway, mother-in-law; Ira Scaife Olloway, sister-in-law; Debra Olloway, son/nephew; Dahrron Moss, and grandson; Dalvin Franklin.

Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Zearner Olloway – Collins, their two sons; Roosevelt Collins, Jr., Tyrone (Fredreca) Collins, Sr. both of Lexa AR, their daughter; Tameshia (Derrick) King of Helena AR, his son; Courtney Collins of Helena – West Helena AR, his three daughters; Rita (Anthony) Goldman of Illinois, April Collins, Margaret Collins both of Helena – West Helena AR, son/grandson; Tyrone “TJ” Collins, Jr. of Lexa AR, bonus son; Samuel Franklin, Sr. of Arkansas, brothers; Tommy Anderson of Helena – West Helena AR, Rickey (Kathy) Winston of Lakeland FL, sisters; Katherine (Joe) Matthews, April (David) Byrd both of Lakeland FL, Carolyn (Amos) Sanders of Little Rock AR, Linda Harris of Helena – West Helena AR, brothers and sisters-in-law; Gilbert (Evelyn) Olloway, Sr., Ray Olloway, Sr., Denise Olloway, Pamela Olloway, all of Lexa AR, Xavier (Shelia) Olloway of West Helena AR, Stanley (Brendra) Olloway of Horn Lake MS, twenty five grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
