Visitation will be held Friday, July 25, 2025 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Freedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 6460 Phillips Road 300, West Helena AR 72390 July 26, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. Mrs. Wheeler's service may be viewed live through ZOOM.

Arlean Wheeler was born August 16, 1951 in Helena, Arkansas to the late John Robert, Sr. and Armella Perry. On July 16, 2025 she was called from labor to reward. She confessed hope in Christ May 18, 1969 at Long Lake Missionary Baptist Church, Helena under the leadership of the late Reverend W.M. Webster.
Arlean worked in the church as an Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, teacher and sometimes secretary. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and volunteer for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Arlean is preceded in death by her parents; John Robert Perry, Sr., Armella Perry, other relatives; Osie Perry, Johnnie Robert Perry, Jr., and Lester Perry.
Arlean leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband; James Wheeler of Helena AR, a daughter and son-in-law; Cynthia and Mark Curry, Sr. of Surprise AZ, six sisters; Ellen (Cornelious) Gines, Rita Perry both of Longview TX, Billie (Oscar, Sr.) Heard, Bertha Matthews both of West Helena AR, Edna Speed, Genny Jackson both of Helena AR, two brothers; Daniel Perry of Little Rock AR, James (Audrey) Perry of Union TN, five half-sisters; Alease (LeOtis) Payne, Shirley Hardison, Brenda Perry, Sandra Perry, Lisa (Dewayne) Lowery, one half-brother; Matthew Perry, two grandsons; Mark (Auriella) Curry, Jr., Joseph Curry, a great granddaughter; Amiyah Curry, and a host of nephews and nieces.
