Visitation will be held Friday, May 23, 2025 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, 126 Panama Road, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 12:00 noon at First Missionary Baptist Church, 125 North Coanza Street, West Helena Arkansas.  Interment will follow immediately at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Barton AR. Lakayla Quanyae Holmes was born on November 11, 2002, to Latarsha Edmond and Anthonia Holmes in West Helena, Arkansas. She departed this earthly life on May 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Lakayla received her formal education within the Barton-Lexa School District and was a proud graduate of Barton High School Class of 2021. She went on to further her education at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas where she recently obtained her Emergency Medical Technician Certification. Prior to this, Lakayla obtained her certificate as a Medical Assistant.

Lakayla began work at an early age, securing her first job at McDonald’s and later at Hibbett Sports. Currently, she was employed at Progressive Health Center as an Admissions Clerk. She took her passion for make-up to brand her technique and style as a Make-Up Artist. As an entrepreneur, she founded “Faced By Kay,” providing her services to many young and seasoned ladies within her community. She continued her love for the art of make-up until God called her home.

Lakayla is preceded in death by her grandmother; Jeannette Larry-Beale, great grandmother; Daisy Mae Glass, and her sister; Cheneka McCraney.

Lakayla leaves to cherish her memories her parents; Latarsha Edmond and Anthonia Holmes both of West Helena AR, one sister; Kuylar Holmes of Lexa AR, one nephew whom she loved as her son; Jaiden Gable of West Helena AR, one niece; McKenzie Thornton of Lexa AR, grandmother; Almetta Glass of Elaine AR, godmother; Daphne Rayford of West Helena AR, a special cousin; Candace Glass-House, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, coworkers, and friends.
