Visitation will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 125 North Coanza Street, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 125 North Coanza Street, West Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa AR. Mr. Johnson's service may be viewed live through ZOOM.

Nathaniel Johnson was born on February 20, 1958 in Oneida, Arkansas to the late William Johnson and Althea Milton Johnson.
Nathaniel received his formal education from various schools starting at Oneida School in Oneida, Arkansas for his elementary education. He graduated from Barton High School in 1977. He attended Phillips County Community College – University of Arkansas in 1978 and received a certificate in maintenance mechanics. Nathaniel was employed for several years at Helena Housing Authority. He then worked briefly at Nitrogen and later at Hoffinger Industries until he retired in 2022. He returned to work in 2023 briefly at The Isle of Capri Casino. He also was a member of the James Alexander #1 Masonic Lodge in West Helena, Arkansas.
Nathaniel confessed a hope in Christ accepting Him as his personal Savior at a young age and was baptized at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Oneida Arkansas. He later joined First Missionary Baptist Church in West Helena, Arkansas under the leadership of Dr. Reverend Nathaniel Hull, Sr. where his wife was a member.
Nathaniel married Carolyn Moore in 1981 his high school sweetheart and to this union, two children were born.
Nathaniel departed this earthly life on April 9, 2025 at 9:33 p.m. in Olive Branch, Mississippi at Methodist Hospital – Olive Branch.
Nathaniel is gone but not forgotten as evidenced by the legacy left to carry on his character and values. Left to treasure many memories his loving and devoted wife; Carolyn Moore Johnson, two sons; Torin (Laveta) Johnson, Sr. of Barton AR, Brian (McKenna) Johnson, Sr. of Hot Springs AR, five grandchildren; Torin Jr., Tyler Nathan, Brian, Jr., Brianna, Bailey, one sister; Lola Johnson of Lynwood IL, four brothers; George (Mary) Johnson of Matteson IL, Floyd (Cynthia) Johnson, Sr. of Riverdale IL, James (Lois) Johnson of Memphis TN, Freddie (Alean) Johnson, Sr. of Scott AR, three brothers-in-law; Clarence (Dorothy) Moore of Lithiasprings,GA, James (Jackie) Moore of Douglasville GA, Calvin (Shirley) Moore of Bartlett TN, six sisters-in-law, Doris (Leonard) Bell of Memphis TN, Bettye (Marcellus) White of Memphis TN, Rosie Parham of St. Louis MO, Verline (Alfred) Weems of Barton, AR, Christine Moore of Barton AR, Mary Johnson of Lexa AR, two longtime friends; Alvin Jones of Chicago IL, Calvin “Shakey” Miller of West Helena, AR, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents; William and Althea, three brothers; William, Jr., Curtis, Robert, two brothers-in-law; Charles, Monroe, two sisters-in-law; Mae and Jeardean.
Nathaniel was very passionate about his yard. He worked diligently grooming and pruning his lawn while his health permitted. His greatest joy was his five grandchildren. He also loved to collect old cars and stuff. He will truly be missed.
