There will not be a visitation. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at C.V. White High School Gymnasium, Lakeview Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Morning Star Cemetery, Elaine Arkansas.
Harvey Lee Walker, Jr. was born on January 12,1963, to the late Harvey Lee Walker, Sr. and the late Ann Elizabeth Walker. He departed this earthly on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Harvey was raised in Lakeview, Arkansas. He received his primary education in the public school system. After completing primary school, Harvey enlisted into the United States Navy. He received basic training at The Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. It was at this location that Harvey received his honors as a Sailor. During his military career, Harvey was stationed in San Diego, California on USS Ranger; Remington Washington on shore duty after being at sea, as well as in Honolulu, Hawaii at Naval Station Pearl Harbor. Harvey was also deployed to many countries internationally such as camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, Africa and US Port Yokosuka in Japan to name a few.
After his military career, Harvey became an electrician working for Northwestern Airlines in Memphis, Tennessee. He relocated and was employed by the City of Philadelphia and assigned to the now demolished Veterans Stadium to wire lights. He worked for the City of Philadelphia for 15 years. Within those years, he became a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Meeting many of the players on the roster year after year. He later moved to Detroit, Michigan to become an electrician until “Finally hanging up the boots” as he would say because of the wear and tear of his body. Harvey moved back where it all started for him in Arkansas. He could finally relax, watch westerns, Gun Smoke being his favorite, and call his children all times of the day or night.
Harvey is preceded in death by his father, mother, and Braylen Walker (grandson). To cherish all the memories, laughs, and fun times, Harvey Lee Walker, Jr. will be remembered by his wife Jovita Walker, sons; Jeffery (Megan) Walker; Everett Walker; Aro “TJ” Williams-Walker; and Akeem Jones; daughters: Shareese Jones and Nydera Walker; 15 grandchildren and 1 great grand, brothers: Rodney (Chatuea) Walker and Reggie Walker; sisters: Bettina (Ronny) Smith; Shelia (Kerry) Glass; LaDonna Gibbs, and Marquita Walker. A host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
