Visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips, Lee, Monroe, and Desha District Center, Helena Crossing, Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas.
On February 6, 1942 Tommie Sien was born to the late Thomas Hicks, Sr. and Thelma L. Perkins in Helena, Arkansas. She graduated from Eliza Miller High School in 1961. She worked as a seamstress at Bobbie Brooks and Helena Sportswear. She worked in the jewelry department at Wal-Mart, where she later retired.
Tommie Sien was baptized at an early age. She was a devoted and dedicated member of Miracle Temple of Deliverance, West Helena Arkansas. She faithfully served as a Sunday School Teacher, church secretary, trustee, and an usher. She loved her family and friends dearly. On November 9, 2024, Tommie Sien transitioned peacefully. She was loved and supported by her family, friends, and caregivers during the last days of her life.
Tommie Sien is preceded in death by her father; Thomas Hicks, Sr., siblings; James Hicks, Jr., Robert “RL” (Shirley) L. Hawkins, Sr., John W. Hawkins, Dorothy (Oscar) Robinson, Add Lee Hicks, Jessie Hicks, Elvira Gosa, Marvin Hicks, David Hicks, and daughter-in-law; Marilyn Smith.
Tommie Sien leaves to cherish her memories her children; Victor M. Hawkins, Sr., Thelma (Michael) Delancey, Roosevelt Smith, mother; Thelma L. Perkins, siblings; Clifton B. (Toni) Hawkins, Thomas Hicks, Jr., Beola Murphy, Clarence Hicks, Willie Hicks, Mitchell (Candy) Hicks, George Hicks, Alfred Hicks, Cleodies Hicks, sister-in-law; Annette Hawkins, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a host of nephew, nieces, cousins, and friends.
