Visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2024 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 716 Adams Street, Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips, Lee, Monroe, and Desha District Center, Helena Crossing, Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines: mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart.
Jimmy Lee Wright was born on January 24, 1960, to the late D.C. Wright and Earnestine Green in Dundee, Mississippi. On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, surrounded by his family; Jimmy answered his Heavenly Father’s call to receive his Heavenly reward.
Jimmy confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age. He was a dedicated member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ja’Sean Smith and remained a faithful member until his health declined.
Jimmy completed his formal education through Job Corps giving him the foundation to pursue many career paths. Affectionately known as “Uncle Jimmy,” he was a loyal employee at the delicatessen for many years at Walmart in West Helena, Arkansas. He never met a stranger whether it was at church, Walmart, or the community at large. He was a very loving, caring, and supportive, yet vocal man.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; siblings; Blondena Wright, Sammie Lee Wright, Patrick Bennett, and James Banks.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his loving memories; his siblings; James Earl Green, D.C. (Tyronda) Wilson, Charles (Rita) Wilson, Chris Wilson, Eunice Odums, Barbara Butler, JoAnn (Tony) Lynch, Rae (Leroy) Stokes all of Mississippi, Trent Byndom of Georgia, Percy Wright, Shirley Wright, Dorothy Wright, Jenny Wright, Rose Marie Jenkins all of Illinois, David Taylor, Pauline Wright both of Iowa, Clarence Allen, Freddie (Mary) Washington, Joyce Gilbert, Retha (Bobby) Davis, Virginia (Jim) Dixon all of Arkansas, Chris Woodard, Ella Griffin both of Tennessee, Nancy Wilson of Pennsylvania, a Godmother; Johnnie Mae Bennett of Arkansas, special sisters; Beatrice Eaton, Dorothy Tate, Jennie Mae Sanders, Marilyn Jackson; God sisters; God brothers; two special aunts; Minnie Adams of Missouri, Precious Bobo of Illinois, a wonderful and supportive Pastor and church family; Pastor Ja’Sean Smith and the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church Family, his Walmart Family, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends to cherish his long-lasting memories.
