Jennifer Elizabeth Sloan – Langston passed away on August 8, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of sixty-six. She was born July 21, 1958 in Helena, Arkansas to the late Huda and Elizabeth Sloan.
She confessed her hope in Christ and was baptized at the True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, West Helena Arkansas at an early age under the leadership of Reverend G.G. Brown. She later as an adult joined Miracle Temple of Deliverance.
Jennifer attended Central High School and graduated in the Class of 1976. She later attended Crowley Ridge, Forrest City, Arkansas and received a certificate as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. Her love for caring for others led her to several nursing facilities where she continuously cared for others in need.
Jennifer would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call about an offer she could not refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This appointment comes with many beautiful perks, eternal life, PEACE, and a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time.
But most importantly she will be reunited with our creator. There is no sickness, nor sorrow, and the knowledge of God is before her.
She fought a grand battle. We will remember her strength, her gentleness, her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for family and friends, many of whom over time also became like family. She made a difference in the lives of many.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents; Huda and Elizabeth Sloan, her beloved son; Dalvon Carruth, two brothers; Thurman Peden, George Peden, one sister; Vervelean Smith, and one brother-in-law; Trumer “Buck” Dunmore.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter; Shanekia Carruth, one sister; Gloria Dunmore, four grandchildren; Eri’Neikeya Bibbs, Timerah Knowlton, Deterrious Linzy, Sr., Ma’Kaylah Carruth, special nieces and nephews that she loved as her own; Wendy (Pam) Green, Heidi (Tommy) Windfield, Tyrus Sloan, three great grandchildren, and a host of adopted children, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews that she loved.
