There will not be a visitation. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Pettis Memorial C.M.E. Church, 121 South Coanza Street, West Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines: mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart. Mrs. Smith's service may be viewed live through ZOOM.

Wanda Mia Smith was born June 10, 1955, in Meridian Mississippi. Her parents, Mary and Johnnie Smith, Jr, moved the family to West Helena Arkansas when she was a child.
Wanda attended school in the Helena-West Helena school district and after graduating from Helena-West Helena Central High School She attended Henderson State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
Wanda was a dedicated advocate for children and families. Her career included working with the Arkansas Children’s Colony, the Arkansas Department of Human Services, and Arkansas Workforce Centers. An outstanding career of service that spanned over 30 years.
Wanda was a dedicated member of the Pettis Memorial CME Church. After accepting Christ at an early age her youth and teenage years included being an active member of the Christian Youth Fellowship and singing in the choir. She also served as a Stewardess, Sunday Church School Teacher, and Superintendent of Sunday Church School. She was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Mary and Johnnie Smith, Jr, and a niece Candace.
Left to Celebrate her precious memories are her brother and sister-in-law Johnnie Smith, III and Cheryl Smith of Jackson MS, nephews and nieces; Aaron, Skyla, Dedrek, and Rhalen, God-son Christopher (Pooh-Man) Moore, Jr, and a host of cousins and friends.
