Visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Eagle Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 296 E.R. Gaines Street, Marianna Arkansas from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will promptly begin at 11:00 a.m. at Eagle Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 296 E.R. Gaines Street, Marianna Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Mount Zion Cemetery, 2787 Highway 243 (Key Corner Road), Marianna Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines: mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart.
Born Chessey Harrison Massey, Jr. to the union of the late Chessey Harrison Massey Sr. and Littie Jones Massey transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal home July 28, 2024 at Saint Bernards Medical Center, Jonesboro Arkansas.
Chessey was educated in rural Lee County. Affectionately known as June, he was a hard worker and loved to take care of his family. He especially enjoyed farming, joking around, giving advice and offering encouraging words to his nieces and nephews.
Chessey is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and seven brothers; Lillie Mae, Evelyn, Lottie B., Dorothy, Robert, Lonnie, Lavan, Jessie, Lee C., Cleo, and Thelma.
Chessey leaves a sea of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memories and to share with each other. He held a special bond with nephews; Lacy and Jeffery who preceded him in death, Melvin (Lenora) of Osceola AR, nieces; Thelma Bammer Washington of Hot Springs AR, and Evelyn Cleveland of Morrilton AR.
