Leroy Craig, Jr. was born on June 10, 1941 to Leroy, Sr. and Florence Johnson- Craig in Helena, Arkansas. His elementary and high school education was completed in Helena/West Helena School District. He earned his High School diploma at Eliza Miller High School in 1961. Brother Craig’s working career began with farming on the family farm until 1963 when he joined the United States Air Force (1963-1969).  He accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church, Oneida, Arkansas under the spiritual leadership of Reverend Robert L. Goldsberry, where he was later crowned Deacon.

Brother Craig met the Love of his life, Christine Davis. Not only did they enjoy a long courtship, but they have also enjoyed an even longer marriage of 58 years. To this union 4 children were born; Michelle, Darron, Leroy III, and Corey.

This Family has been long time faithful members of the First Baptist Church of Barton, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend Johnny Jackson and currently Reverend Calvin Frierson. Brother Craig has consistently and faithfully worked in the church by acting as a Deacon when needed, teaching, properly tithing, as a trustee, Church Secretary and any other capacity deemed necessary.

Brother Leroy was a very social man who never met a stranger and one who would help anyone he possibly could. He enjoyed a quiet life; loved his family (especially the grands and great grands). He enjoyed keeping his lawn groomed and doing things around the house. Having been active-duty Air Force during the Vietnam War Era (1 November 1955-30 April 1975), he surely appreciated peace time at home with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Leroy, Sr. and Florence Johnson Craig, Jessie and Louise Davis (in-laws), a brother; Charles Johnson, a sister; Everjean Starkins, sons; Corey, and Leroy, III.

Brother Leroy leaves to cherish the sweet memories of him, his wife; Christine Davis-Craig, daughter; Michelle (Eric) Craig-Geering of Murrieta CA, son; Darron (Carlus) Craig of Barton AR, brother; Aaron Brison of Winchester AR, sister; JoAnn Taylor of Helena – West Helena AR, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.
