Visitation will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena Arkansas from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will promptly be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines:  mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart. Mrs. White's service may be viewed live through ZOOM. Vera B. Thompson White was born July 5, 1947 to the late Quincy and Carrie Thompson in West Helena, Arkansas. She transitioned from this life to eternal life on May 18, 2024 at Crestpark Nursing Home, Helena Arkansas.

Vera accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church, West Helena Arkansas. She graduated from Eliza Miller High School at the age of sixteen with honors. She later moved to Brooklyn, New York and attended The Brooklyn Adult Learning Center where she obtained certification to become a Social Worker. She successfully gained employment within the Human Resources Administration (HRA), promoted to the Assistant Director. Vera was dedicated and committed for thirty-five years, until reaching her retirement.

Vera was united in Holy Matrimony to Jimmy White until his death. She later moved back to her hometown of West Helena, Arkansas to help take care of father and mother.

Vera White leaves to cherish her siblings; Vernetta Saunders of Oakland Park KS, Paris (Demaris) Thompson, Alphonso Lemont Thompson, Brenda (Alex) Jean Haigler, Rae Evelyn King all of Helena – West Helena AR, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
