Jimmy Jackson, beloved husband, father, and friend left this world on April 16, 2024 at the age of 70.

Jimmy was a beacon of kindness and generosity, touching the lives of all who knew him. His warm smile and spirited demeanor lit up every room he entered. His unwavering compassion just made it easy to be around him.

He was born on October 19,1953 to the late Cleo, Sr. and Beatrice Jackson, raised in Lexa, Arkansas where he graduated from Central High School in 1971. Jimmy led a life filled with love, laughter, and hard work.  He was brought up in the family business of farming with his father; Cleo, Sr. and brothers. He loved being a farmer. All you had to do was drive through Southland and catch him on that green John Deere tractor in the heat still smiling. His love for 18-wheelers later led him to acquire his CDL certification and start his own trucking company, Jackson Trucking.

After high school, Jimmy pursued his education at The University of Arkansas at Monticello where he met his loving and devoted wife, Linda Jackson.  To this union three amazing daughters and one son (that preceded him in death) were born. He had eight grandchildren he adored that affectionately called him “Paw Paw.” He dedicated himself to his family, cherishing every moment spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His devotion knew no bounds, and his love knew no limits.

A lifetime member of Southland community, Jimmy was known for his integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment to helping others. Whether lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or sharing words of wisdom, he touched countless lives and left great memories to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In the late years of his life, Jimmy fought through many heart challenges.  Regardless of the prognosis, with a smile on his face and his infectious laugh, he would let you know he still had more life to live.

In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed playing cards, listening to blues, spending time with family, eating popcorn and ice cream. Simply finding joy in life’s smallest pleasures and creating cherished memories with his loved ones.

Jimmy had eight siblings, three preceded him in death; Cleo Jackson, Jr., John Jackson, and Charles Jackson. Remaining siblings; Viola Jackson Davis of Memphis TN, Charlie (Geneva) Jackson, Rebecca Gatlin both of Southland AR, Dennis Jackson, Michael (Linda) Jackson both of Milwaukee WI.

He leaves  to cherish his  memory his beloved wife; Linda Jackson, his children; Lakisha (Maurice) of Rockwall TX, Jamille (Noah) of Little Rock AR, Briana (Eric) of Sherwood AR, Veronica of Little Rock AR, Nickolas (Shaye) of Fredrick MD, April (Sedric) of Little Rock AR, his grandchildren; Johnnie, Jaydon, Kaitlyn, Janiya, Kriston, Endia, Mason, Eric, Jr., Amayah, Kaliyah, Nickolas, Jr., Adrein, August, and  a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
