There will not be a visitation. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips, Lee, Monroe, and Desha District Center, Helena Crossing, Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Morning Star Cemetery, Elaine Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines: mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart.
Robert Edward Clash, Sr. was born on April 4, 1957, in Ratio, Arkansas to the late Willie Clash, Sr. and Mercie Clash. He developed a relationship with Christ at an early age. He was baptized in Ratio at Gumwood Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend P.L. Perkins. Later in his adult life he became a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, in Elaine, Arkansas under the leadership of the late Reverend S.L. George, currently under the leadership of Pastor Desi Sims. Robert loved his church family and fellowshipping with them. He enjoyed serving in his role on the Usher board and delighted in the interesting Sunday School lessons/conversations that he studied days in advance for.
Robert was known by family and friends to be a very kind, loyal, and dependable man; always willing to help anyone he could. He was a man of the utmost character and integrity. Growing up the oldest of eight siblings, he has always been responsible and led by example.
He attended school in the Elaine Public School System where he was a graduate of the Class of 1976. He was no stranger to hard work. He previously held positions of employment at Helena Chemical, Riceland Foods, and Quincy Soybean. His hobbies included hunting and fishing which he enjoyed until his health began to decline.
Robert departed this life on February 18, 2024. Along with both parents he is preceded in death by his companion and Mother of his children; Debra Heard, siblings; Willie “Red” Clash, Jr., Shirley Clash-Austin, Carolyn “Coot” Clash-Harper, and Nancy Clash-Liddell.
Robert leaves to cherish his loving memories one daughter; Yolanda D. Clash of Elaine AR, one son; Robert E. (Ant’Tasia) Clash, Jr. of Lancaster TX, four grandchildren; Tyler of Elaine AR, Keira, Kaleyah, Ramell of Lancaster TX, one sister; Linda “Faye” Clash of Conway AR, two brothers; Roy (Sandra) Clash of Oneida AR, Freddie (Linda) Clash of Clarksdale MS, one aunt; Clovia “Mattie” Clash-Lee of Chicago IL, three brothers-in-law; Anthony Austin, Sr., of Chicago IL, Christopher Liddell of Springfield IL, Jerry Harper of Helena AR, two sisters-in-law; Gloria Clash-Hughes of Memphis TN, Anita Clash of Little Rock AR, one God Brother; Charlie “Chuck” Campbell of Little Rock AR, a dear friend Jessie Watkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
