Visitation will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena, AR from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held July 21, 2018 at New Light M.B. Church, Helena, AR at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa AR.
Mrs. Marilyn Temple Clarke was born July 9, 1958 in Helena, Arkansas to the late Willie and Mary Rush.
Marilyn graduated from Barton High School in Barton, Arkansas. She continued her education at Phillips Community College where she received an Associate Degree in Business Administration.
Marilyn was employed by Mid Delta Transit until her health began to fail.
Marilyn accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Jackson Temple COGIC, Lexa Arkansas. She later joined Beautiful Zion M.B. Church under the leadership of Reverend Danny Robinson and remained faithful until her health began to decline.
On Friday, July 13, 2018, Mrs. Marilyn Clarke answered her Master’s call for eternal rest at St. Bernards Medical Center, Jonesboro Arkansas surrounded by her loving family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her brothers; Willie and Tonnie Rush and a niece; Chelsea Rush.
Leaving to forever cherish her wonderful and lasting memories are her husband; Thomas Clarke of Helena AR, two daughters; Ramona (Joseph) Anderson of Jonesboro AR, Demaris Renee Thomas of Lexa AR, son; Layman (Lawanda)Thomas, Jr. of Southaven MS, two sisters; Belinda (Michael) Coleman of Denton TX, Elizabeth Rush of Helena AR, two brothers; Joe (Lena) Rush of Corona CA, Milton Rush of Toledo OH; five grandchildren; Dalvin Thomas, Darius Thomas, Joseph Anderson, Jr., Lillian Anderson, Aiden Thomas, the father of her children; Layman Thomas, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
