Visitation will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Church of the Living God, 700 Park Street, West Helena AR from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will promptly began Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Living God, 700 Park Street, West Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines: mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart. Ms. Brown's service may be viewed live through ZOOM.

Samella Brown was born May 5, 1949 to the late Sam and Mattie Bell Brown in Helena, Arkansas. She transitioned from this earthly life to her heavenly home July 21, 2023.
Samella accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She joined the Church of the Living God Pillar Ground of Truth, West Helena Arkansas. There she was an active member serving in many capacities such as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher, and a Vacation Bible School Teacher just to name a few. She participated in several community-based organizations as well as helped those in need throughout the years.
Samella graduated from Eliza Miller High School, West Helena Arkansas. She continued her education at Philander Smith College, Little Rock Arkansas completing her bachelor’s degree. She also attended University of Conway, Conway Arkansas receiving her master’s degree in early childhood development.
Samella taught school for over forty years. As a Special Education Teacher, she has touched the lives of many students within the Helena – West Helena School District, Marvell School District and Rosa Fort Public School System, Tunica Mississippi. She loved children and they loved her.
Samella is preceded in death by her parents; Sam and Mattie Brown.
Samella leaves to cherish her memories her siblings; Mary Johnson of Lexa AR, Larry Brown, Elder Herman (Eddie Mae) Brown, Anna Brown all of West Helena AR, Jaquline Brown of Norfork VA, Ocie Brown of Helena AR and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
