Visitation will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Branch Baptist Church, Jonesridge AR from 10 - 11 a.m. Funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 at Branch Baptist Church, Jonesridge AR. Interment will be at Branch Baptist Cemetery, Jonesridge AR.
Mrs. Mae Bell Bowman Barnes was born November 8, 1925 to the late John Wesley and Frances Bowman in Wabash, Arkansas. She departed this earthly life June 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Mae Bell accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Mellwood Baptist Church, Mellwood Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend Harris.
Mrs. Mae Bell married the “Apple of Her Eye,” Fletcher Barnes, Sr. To this union seven children were born.
The Barnes family joined Branch Baptist Church, Jonesridge Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend Colbert. Mrs. Mae Bell served on the Usher Board well into her mid-80’s and remained a faithful member until her health began to deteriorate.
Mrs. Mae Bell is preceded in death by her husband; Fletcher, Sr., children; Joseph, Fletcher, Jr., Henry “Bow,” Mae Bell “Women,” Johnny, grandchildren; Qyla, ShiGisela, and Oscar.
Mrs. Mae Bell leaves to cherish her memories her children; Dorothy Bloodsaw of Dayton OH, Fannie (Robert) Walker of Grand Rapid MI, Bobbie (Ceal) Alexander of Dayton OH, Ruthie Barnes Netterville of Tallahassee FL, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
