Visitation will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1132 Walnut, Helena Arkansas from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral Service will promptly start at 12:00 noon, October 15, 2022 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Star Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines:  mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart. We celebrate the life of our beloved Frank Amos who transitioned from time to eternity Saturday, October 1, 2022 in Helena – West Helena Arkansas.

Frank Amos was born October 10, 1943 to the union of Melvin and Ruby Amos, Sr. in Barton Arkansas. He was the second child of twelve children.

Frank accepted Christ as his personal Savior May 1955. He joined and was baptized at Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend P.C. Claiborne.

Frank received his formal education within the Helena – West Helena School District; North End Elementary School, South Side Jr. High School, and Eliza Miller High School. He joined the United States Air Force for a short period of time before migrating north to Chicago, Illinois. There, he worked in factories and other various jobs. After thirty years he returned to Arkansas and worked at Helena Oil Mill. Later, he attended Arkansas Career Training Institute in Hot Springs, Arkansas where he earned a certificate in Janitorial and Maintenance Service. After graduation, he began working at Miller Jr. High School.

Frank married Ollie Lee Reese and was blessed with a blended family of daughters. He also was blessed with a blended family of sons with his lifelong companion, the late Mamie Rena Salley of Chicago, Illinois.

Frank was an active member of the West Helena Senior Citizens Center. He loved joy riding and spending time with family and friends.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Clarence, Calvin and Kenneth Amos.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory his children; Ruthie Pride, Shaun Amos, Kent (Andrea) Amos, Brenda Carthan all of Helena – West Helena AR, Tonya Robertson, Marlon Robertson, Toney Salley all of Columbus OH, six brothers; Melvin Amos, Jr, of Union City CA, James Amos of Carson CA, Charles (Gwen) Amos, Sr., Joseph Amos both of Houston TX, Johnny Amos of Sacramento CA, Dr. Larry (Patricia) Amos, Sr. of Pine Bluff AR, two sisters; Ruby Cranford of Memphis TN, Pearl (Clifton) Walker of Lexa AR, a sister-in-law; Bonita Jackson-Amos of Helena – West Helena AR, two uncles; Emanuel (Lura) Johnson of Chicago IL, James (Margaret) Johnson of Wildomar CA, eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
