Obituaries

Ray Charles Hudson was born August 16, 1958, in Helena, Arkansas to the late Andrew and Charles L. Hudson.  Ray accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Morning Star Baptist Church and later untied with St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church.  In 2008, Ray was ordained as a Deacon at Zion Travelers Missionary Church.  He departed this life April 28, 2018 in Helena, Arkansas.

Ray graduated from Central High School in 1976.  He than attended truck driving school, and his graduation would be the beginning of a lifelong career and love for the open road.  He drove long hauls for several different companies for many years, until his health would no longer allow it.

Ray met and married Sandra Faye Hampton, and to this union one child, Tukeesha, was born.  He was a proud father and later a proud grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hudson, Jr., two sisters; Maxine (Ruben) Washington and Artunda (Anthony) Wakefield.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter; Tukeesha Hudson of Orlando FL, two grandchildren; Kindre Jackson of Orlando FL, Christopher Maxey of Dallas TX, one brother; Homer Spears of Castle Rock CO, three sisters: Ernestyne Watkins of Glen Dale MD, Willa (Lincoln) Brown of Orange County CA, Wilma (Lee) Gill of Arkadelphia AR.  He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, many other family members, and friends.  he also leaves his longtime love, Dorothy Jackson and her children, Charles Redd, Courtney Redd, Tamika Mark and Stephanie Payne.
