Visitation will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at P.L.M. & D. District Center, Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Springlake Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines: mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart.
Roosevelt Stokes was born on December 18, 1949 to the late Lonnie and Ophelia Stokes in Hughes, Arkansas. He confessed his life to Christ at Saint Mary Number One, West Helena Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend James Johnson.
Roosevelt departed his earthly home May 29, 2022, surrounded by his loving family in Memphis, Tennessee.
Roosevelt is preceded in death by his parents; Lonnie and Ophelia Stokes, two brothers; Donald Stokes, Lonnie Stokes, Jr., two sisters; Catherine Geter, Patricia Stokes, and a brother-in-law; Johnny Williams.
Roosevelt leaves to share his memories three sisters; Clara Williams of West Helena AR, Joyce (Sam) Dandridge of Memphis TN, Ophelia (Mark) Watkins of Lafayette IN, two brothers; Andrew Lee (Michelle) Stokes, Bennie (Penny) Stokes both of Lafayette IN, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
