Visitation will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 at Second Baptist Church, 167 Park Street, West Helena Arkansas from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will promptly be held Monday, February 7, 2022 at Second Baptist Church, 167 Park Street, West Helena Arkansas at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at New Zion Cemetery, West Helena Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines:  mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart.

Marcus James Foster affectionately known as “Cody” was born April 11, 1977 to Dannie KanDallas Foster and the late Vern Ella Spriggs in Helena, Arkansas. He departed this earthly life January 11, 2022 at UAMS Medical Center, Little Rock Arkansas.

Marcus later moved to New York with his mother until her early demise. After the death of Marcus’s mother, he remained in New York living on the streets; until his Uncle Peter Spriggs became his guardian. Marcus lived under his uncle’s care until his uncle’s death.

Marcus graduated from Central High School, Helena – West Helena, Arkansas in the class of 1996 after which he was accepted to Phillips County Community College, Helena Arkansas to major in English. Marcus loved Greek Mythology; a love developed while living with his mother and reading whatever was available.

Marcus accepted Christ and joined Truevine Missionary Baptist Church while living in Helena – West Helena Arkansas.

After a semester at Phillips County Community College; he decided that a college degree wasn’t what he really wanted, only to realize later just how important education, and family were, especially the love of his grandmother; Mrs. Aritha Bailey. She kept him grounded. After spending some time out in the world he wrote to the admission office of Pulaski Tech Community and Continuing Education; “If I am ever going to be a productive member of society I need some means of making a living and going to school is my only option. So I promise not to strike out my third time.”

Marcus was granted the opportunity to study at Pulaski Tech Community and Continuing Education. If you asked him,” what was the hardest thing, he had to do in life?” He would say, ”TO ASK FOR HELP.”

Marcus is preceded in death by his mother; Verna Spriggs, a brother; Adrian Micah a sister; Alisha Annette Foster, grandmothers; Aritha Robertson Pride Fitzpatrick Goldsberry Foster Bailey Curry, Verline Foster Minor, Martha Watson, Ethel Bee Foster, Geneva Perry, Carrie Jones, Clara Mae Foster, Creola Foster Yarborough, Erline Foster, grandfathers; Gentle Pride, William Fitzpatrick, Jule Lee Goldsberry Sr., Dann Foster Sr., Leon Bailey Sr, Hezikiah Curry, Roosevelt Pearl Minor, Oney Foster Sr., Earnest Foster Sr., Reese Foster, aunts; Marva Jean Pride, Dianne Fitzpatrick Mills Hardy, Betty Fitzpatrick, uncles; Jiles Elliot Brown, James Edward Brown, Lonnie Foster, Constance Bailey, Oney Foster Jr., Ted Minor, Jule Lee Goldsberry Jr., 1st cousins; Cedric, Curtis, Mark, Cynthia, and Creola.

 

Marcus leaves to cherish his memories his father; Dannie Foster, brothers; Cody, Cory, Travis, Mario, Kareem, David, D’Martinniese, Brandon, Kenonte, Onyx, sisters; Felicia, Tenesha, Jacretia, Aretha, Gabrival, Egypt, Arsenia, Zhonae, first cousins all of whom were raised as siblings, including; Berenda, Shalanda, Tracie, Dennis, Curtis, Jackie, Shon, Anita, Jule, Shawnte, Andrea, Ruby, Retha, uncles; Shelton, Fredze, Leon, Calvin, Thurman, Laceon, George, Marco, Chris, Doug, Skipper, Jessie, Roosevelt, aunts: Saketa, Laura, Geraldine, Annette, Ethel Jean, Lillian, Polly, Mary Alice, Louise, Bonnie, Barbara, Willie Mae, great uncles; Willis, Joe, great aunts; Hattie Johnson, Mabel Pruitt, Beverly Foster, God mothers; Joyce Robinson, Thelma Bryant, Barbara Hayes, two loyal friends; Loylett Henry, Brandon Debose and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Arrival to his rest was met by all his family who preceded him in passing unto their rest, where he shall rest ever more in the very BOSSOM of the SOLE SINGULAR SOYCE of all UNIVERSAL LIFE and its MOTHER of EARTH, in sure and certain Hope and PRAYER HIS SURVIVING PATERNAL DAD, Mr. Dannie KanDallas Foster, on behalf of HIS and MY SAVIOR CHRIST JESUS ISCARIOT plea on our behalf unto LORD ALLFATHER GOD The CREATOR of UNIVERSAL CREATION, toward that end, THIS MAN, A MAN, says AMEN, GLORY and PRAISE BE ALL UNTO THE MOST HIGH, LORD MASTER FATHER GOD!!!!
