Visitation will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena Arkansas from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. You may log in to the Zoom session at 12:30 p.m. Graveside service will follow immediately at approximately 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Barton Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines:  mask, hand sanitizer, temperature checks, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart. Mrs. Gladney's service may be viewed live through ZOOM. Bobbie Hurts Gladney was born August 4, 1945 to the late Otis W. Hurts and Ellen Holmes Hurts in Evergreen, Louisiana.

Bobbie accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at the age eleven years old at New Light Baptist Church in Evergreen, Louisiana under the leadership of Reverend Willie Jackson.

Bobbie attended George Washington Carver High School where she graduated with the class of 1964.  After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles, California where she met the love of her life, Edward Lee Gladney. Six months later, they joined hands in Holy Matrimony.  To this union one child was born, Paula Michelle Gladney on August 15, 1968.

Bobbie worked as a supervisor at various retail locations.  She had a very caring, loving, energetic, determined, and magnetic personality. She was always impeccably groomed from head to toe.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her daughter; Paula Michelle Gladney (at an early age), her parents; Otis W. Hurts and Ellen Holmes Hurts, two sisters; Gladys Thelma Hurts, Elrene Hurts Distan, two brothers; Otis Preston Hurts, Jesse James Hurts, Sr., father and mother-in-law; Vernon Gladney, Sr. and Nancy Beachum Gladney, two brothers-in-law; Freddie Bernard Gladney and Richard Van Gladney.

Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory a supportive husband; Edward Lee Gladney, seven sisters; Jeraline H. Corner, Dorothy Ann Clayton, Beverly Sue Offord, Constance Marie Player all of Evergreen LA, Willie Lee (Henderson) Wickliffe of Inglewood CA, Ella Ann (Marvin) Gray of Silbee TX, Delores Jean Smith of Kansas City MO, one brother; MacArthur (Doris) Hurts of Evergreen LA; one brother-in-law; Vernon Gladney, Jr. of Atlanta GA, two sisters-in-law; Emola Clemmons, Mildred White both of West Helena AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
