Visitation will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at P.L.M. & D. District Center, Helena Crossing, Helena, Arkansas at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at Spring Lake Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines: mask, hand sanitizer, temperature checks, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart. Mrs. Gause's service may be viewed live through ZOOM.

Roberta Gause, born June 3, 1928, in Lexa, AR, was the first child born to late Henry Pruitt, Sr. and Rachel Moore-Pruitt. She departed this earthly life on Monday, March 29, 2021, at Crestpark Inn of Marianna in Marianna, Arkansas.
Roberta confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Lexa Arkansas.
Roberta attended Rose Walls School in Southland – Lexa, Arkansas.
Roberta touched the hearts of many people, both near and far. She worked at the formerly known Helena Hospital, currently known as Helena Regional Medical Center in the housekeeping department. After 29 years of employment, she retired from her position as Supervisor of Housekeeping. She then went out to work part-time with Byrd’s Nursery in West Helena, Arkansas for many years.
Roberta loved to cook, plant and nurture her garden of plants and flowers, and raise chickens, roosters, and peacocks, just to name a few. Above all of these things, Roberta loved her family.
Roberta was a member of the Spring Lake Missionary Baptist Church in Lexa, Arkansas. She served on the Mother Board of the church for several years.
Robert is preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Rachel Pruitt, Sr., sons; Eugene “Pee Wee” Gause, Sr., Eddie “Eddie Bo” Martin, Arthur “Art” Adams, Sr., Andrew Gause, Sr., siblings; Henry Pruitt, Sr., Horace Pruitt, Sr., Martha Helen Bell, Mae Lou Hardnett, grandchildren; Leon Mayweather, Jr., Stephanie Gause-Jacobs, Dermeyl Bell and James Mayweather.
Roberta leaves to cherish her memory eight children; Leon (Pauline) Mayweather, Sr. of Charlotte NC, Tommie (Juanita) Gause, Jr. of Lexa AR, John Gause, Sr. of West Helena AR, Rosie Winston of Jonesboro AR, Cleveland (Carla) Martin, Carrie Martin both of Lexa AR, Charles (Tracy) Martin, Jr. of Marvell AR, Willie (Candace) Bell of Chicago, IL; two siblings; Margarite Bell, Allen Pruitt, both of Chicago, IL; daughters-in-law; Ruth Gause, Gloria Gause both of Lexa, AR, sisters-in-law; Charlene Pruitt of Atlanta GA, Mable Pruitt of Lexa AR, thirty-eight grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, distant relatives and friends.
