Visitation will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the P.L.M. & D. District Center, Helena Arkansas at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at Israel Chapel Cemetery, Turner. Due to our Federal and State COVID-19 guidelines: Due to our Federal and State COVID-19 guidelines: during the Visitation - we will only allow individuals to view 10 at a time. Funeral Service - Please allow time and patience for COVID-19 entry process to include: mask, hand sanitizer, temperature checks, and sign-in roster with name and phone number. We will admit 100 individuals with the proper wristband. At the Cemetery - we will abide by the social distance standard of 6ft apart. Mr. Whitfield's service may be viewed live through ZOOM. Larry Whitfield (Boo) was born June 27, 1953 to Central and Mable Allen in Marvell, Arkansas. Larry accepted Christ at an early age, he was baptized and became a member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church. He was a hard worker, devoted friend, and loved his family. After forty-five years of service he retired from his job to enjoy life and his family. Larry enjoyed traveling and spending time on the hill at the family home in Turner, Arkansas. God called his child home on January 12, 2021.
Larry was preceded in death by his Father Central Allen, Son Clarence Cartwright, Grandparents Ellis & Pearl Allen and Robert & Annie Johnson, Brother-in-laws Freeman Cartwright, Sr., and Kenneth Davis, one Aunt Mae Ethel Piggee.
Larry is survived by his children Alishia Whitfield, Antonio Johnson, Londell Whitfield, Brandon Whitfield, Tremayne Whitfield, Quinton Whitfield, Cadarro Turner, and Ekco Thomas; twenty grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a loving mother Mable Allen; siblings Prince Ella Vanzan, Sandy (Ron) Betts, Gracie Davis, Ellis Mike Allen and Willie Murray; aunts Wyom Mayo, Bertha Cox, and Shirley Johnson; uncles Jimmy Johnson and Earmer Cox, Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the Johnson family.
