Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2020 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas at 11:00 a.m. Due to our Federal and State COVID-19 guidelines: during the Visitation - we will only allow individuals to view 10 at a time, at the Graveside Service - we will abide by the social distance standard of 6ft apart. Mrs. Johnson's service may be viewed live via ZOOM.

Betty Jean Mathis Johnson was born June 30, 1944 to the late Thomas Mathis, Sr. and Zeola Oliver. She departed this earthly life on September 7, 2020 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
At an early age, Betty accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She united with First Baptist Church of West Helena, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend H.Y. Ward. While at First Baptist she served on the Usher Board and sung in the Choir.
Betty was united in Holy Matrimony to Lennie Johnson and to this union two children were born.
She was proceeded in death by her father; Thomas Mathis, Sr., her mother; Zeola Oliver and a special cousin; Bobby Jones.
She leaves to share and cherish her memories two children; Regina (Tyrone) Conley of Tunica Mississippi, Lyndon Johnson of Barton Arkansas, two grandchildren; Jonathan (Michelle) Davis of Washington, Aaliyah Johnson of Barton Arkansas, three great-grandchildren; Exavier Davis, Aidan Davis, Londyn Carter, three sisters; Eva Mae (Freddie) Holliday of Snow Lake Arkansas, Evylean Mathis of Memphis Tennessee, Yolanda Mathis, three brothers; Thomas Mathis, Dewayne Mathis, Jerome Mathis all of Memphis Tennessee, a special daughter; Cynthia Winter of Arizona, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
