Charlotte Hickey was born February 16, 1975 to Sampson Hicks, Sr. and the late Ruby Beasley Stevenson in Helena, Arkansas. She departed this earthly life July 2, 2020 at Saint Vincent Infirmary, Little Rock Arkansas.

Charlotte received her formal education within the Helena-West Helena School District, Helena Arkansas. She was a proud Central High School Graduate; Class of 1994.

Charlotte accepted Christ as her personal Savior under the leadership of Pastor Danny Robinson. She enjoyed learning about her Lord and Savior, serving Him and spending time with her church family at Beautiful Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Helena Arkansas. She was a faithful and active member until her health declined.

Those who knew Charlotte would say she was full of life and most of all “jokes.” She was one of the sweetest people one could meet; once you got past her mean exterior looks. She was very blunt and to the point with her words and actions.

Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her family and friends but most of all her fiancé, Jack Betts. Her favorite pastime was watching television, especially “In the Heat of the Night.” She will be missed but never forgotten.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her mother; Ruby Stevenson, her grandmother; Jessie Pearson, and a sister; Veria Mooney.

Charlotte leaves to cherish her memories her fiancé; Jack Betts of West Helena AR, her father; Sampson Hicks, Sr. of Dixon IL, brothers; Freddie (Mary) Washington, Arthur Bradley both of West Helena AR, Joseph McCray of Helena AR, Sampson Hicks, Jr. of North Little Rock AR, sisters; Vera Tayborn of Little Rock AR, Priscilla (Waymon) McDaniel of Helena AR, Mathric (Mickey) McNeil of Jonesboro AR, Pamela (Anthony) Austin of West Helena AR, Mary Hicks of Helena AR, Jaqueline Hicks of Little Rock AR, Trina Hicks of West Helena AR, and a host nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
